Snapshot 40 No.400-409
409. Closure everywhere

This shop too has closed.
If I were a coffeeshop owner, what to do at this crisis time?
Well, it might not be anything aged one like me think about.

408. Sunset glow

Evening walk with Jiro after the heavy rain. Suddenly the sunset glow came on.
Somewhat surreal.

407. A monster!!

Noticed a truck beside me carries something suspicious.
Dude, you must carry feet of a monster!!

The thought of course cannot be true. Looks like the tips of excavators for constrcutin sites.
Though I took the photo right away, it lacks the total view. As a self-declared snap-shooter, I still have a long way to go.
406.@Branch classroom

This is a nearby primary school.
In reality, the school was closed in 1977.
As this area was away from the town where the main school existed, this detached one seems to be needed.

I admire those people who found out such place and promoted the large-scale housing development at its initial stage.
405. Ko-nara

Young leaves of ko-nara in a pot. At this time of year, they shape themselves as in the photo, like an umbrella is shut.
The figure must have been effective in handling the strong rain and high wind of yesterday.
=2020-04-14 tue canon ps sx40hs=
After the leaves get strong enough, they open up and receive the sunlight in full. That reminds me of the solar panels of satellites.

The weather map of meteorological agency, as of yesterday 13th 12:00. As can be imagined, the LP below 990 mili-bar can bring about that mcuh of rain and wind.
Still the unit of "hecto-Pascal" has never fitted me.

404. Wonder of floatplane

The engine sound of the plane of the previous item looks to indicate the familiar 4-stroke
go maru (50) engine (0.50 cu.in.). Still it performs both the takeoff and splashdown without stress.
=2020-04-11 sat canon ps sx40hs=
The plane hangs so large floats. Yet it can fly smoothly. Amazing.
The actual floatplane operating today I know is the one for sightseeing using the Quest's Kodiak 100.
"SETOUCHI SEAPLANES" at Onomichi operates it. 6 passengers.
Its website is
here.
403. Inba marsh 2 / RC model-plane
=2020-04-11 sat canon ps sx40hs=
No wind means the turn of RC model-planes.
So I went to the airfield at Tuti-uki. A floatplane was flying.
A new pier for hydroplane was completed, and a new boat to recover the wrecked one is also laid upside down.
402. Inba marsh / Ao-sagi

Today's weather is calm and very good after the windy days.
At the lower reach of Iino Ryu-jin bridge.

401. Tanpopo
Tanpopo (dandelion) at a nearby bicycle path.
Though this non-native species blooms even in the dead of winter, it is particularly conspicuous at this time of year.
=2020-04-07 tue canon ps sx40hs=
As I feel this name tanpopo does not appear in old poems, I searched online. It is said that even a piece of poem mentioning tanpopo does not exist in the Manyoushu (oldest anthology of poetry).
The native species was called also fujina or tana in the old days and tudumi-gusa in the Edo period.
The showy look might not have appealed to the poets who are fond of something sentimental?
400. Yama-zakura
Yama-zakura (mountain cherry) at Asaka-yama square as of today.
It is now
ha-zakura (cherry with leaves i.e., blossoms are gone) while I am being occupied with others.
